The Animal Welfare League NSW Shelter, situated at 1605 Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek (Western Sydney), operates seven days a week from 10 am until 3:30 pm.

When individuals visit the shelter, they are encouraged to bring their entire family, including any existing dogs in their care, to ensure compatibility with potential new pets.

For the meet and greets with dogs, the shelter staff will bring the dog out of the shelter, to come interact with you in a large play area. This provides a comfortable space for the dog to be engage with you.

Whilst not essential, it is preferred to book in advance, if you have a specific animal in mind. This allows us to schedule your meeting time with that animal. Some of our animals are in foster homes and aren't being housed at our shelter. You contact us via phone to book specific animal meet and greets

Visitors are welcome to visit the dedicated enclosure for cats and pocket pets.

The shelter's staff assists visitors by gathering essential information about their preferences and lifestyles, with the goal of matching each individual or family with the most suitable animal. Prospective adopters are advised not to rush the decision but rather take the time to familiarize themselves with each recommended pet. If the initial pet meeting doesn't feel right, there's no pressure as the shelter usually has a diverse selection of animals available for consideration.

All pets offered for adoption by the Animal Welfare League NSW come with a 14-day health guarantee and are provided desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, and wormed, all covered within the adoption fee.

Adoption fees for pets available through regional branches are determined by the respective local branches and are detailed on each animal's profile. Individuals interested in meeting a pet at a branch are instructed to contact the branch directly.
