Overview
Napkin is a timid but curious boy who took about a week to settle into his foster home. While he may come across as shy at first, he's slowly building confidence and exploring more of the house, especially during the quiet hours of dawn and dusk. His favourite place to perch is either inside a box or at the very top of the giant cat tree, where he can observe everything from a safe distance. He sticks to a regular feeding routine, he's very food-motivated. Though wary of people he doesn't know well, Napkin has begun accepting pats around his neck and the base of his tail when he feels safe and relaxed, usually while on the cat tree. He doesn't enjoy being picked up and will hiss and run away if he feels cornered, but with patience and time, he continues to make progress. He's also vocal, often meowing loudly at night for reasons known only to him. Toys are still scary for Napkin, but we hope in time he will learn to love them. Napkin has sniffed noses with the resident dog and rubbed up against another cat when food was involved, showing that while he's nervous, he can coexist peacefully with others. He doesn't understand how to play and tends to run and hide if another cat tries to engage with him. Despite this, there's potential for Napkin to live with another calm, non-pushy cat who gives him space. With a patient, understanding home, Napkin could continue to blossom into a more confident companion. Note: This cat is currently being cared for in a home and when adopted, it will free up a spot to help another cat.
